Web 2.0, Libraries, and Perspectives

I read all five of the perspectives, but the most thought-provoking one for me was the first one - on icebergs. While it is true that libraries cannot collect all materials, it will be quite a while until the "computer" will replace the book in all its formats. The older generation is not and will not be computer literate for quite a while, so we must continue "collecting" in all formats in the near future. Yes we cannot teach everyone how to use a computer, but we can do more training of "teachers". I also agree that we need to go to the public and not expect them to come to us. I serve the people who can't come to us - mostly the elderly. They are generally technologically illiterate and this probably will not change until the next generation - the boomers - get to where they physically can't come to the library.
